Piezo Technologies seeks an Electronics Systems Engineering Leader for its growing systems engineering team located in beautiful Boulder, Colorado. Located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, here we develop ultrasonic transducer products and systems for a wide range of industries. We desire a senior level electrical engineer with direct experience designing and managing the development of integrated electronics systems, including analog and digital board level electronics design, PCB design, programmable logic, and embedded software. This candidate will work within and lead a small electronics development team, as a part of a broader ultrasonic products development group. The right candidate for this position will be an experienced leader who is well versed in all aspects of electronics design and simulation, systems modeling, prototyping, product test and validation. This candidate must be capable of managing all facets of electrical\electronic product development from inception to mass production. This candidate will make their own technical contributions, while simultaneously providing leadership to a small team of 2 to 4 engineers and technicians. Demonstrated skills in leadership, project management, team management, mentoring, and recruiting are highly valued. This candidate must enjoy developing, supporting, and working in a team environment.
Recruit, develop, lead and manage electrical engineering personnel
Work with other managers, executive management, and marketing to define new products
Develop systems level simulation, modeling, and validation capabilities and tools
Design system level electronics solutions for ultrasonic transducer measurement applications
Design, prototype, test, and characterize ultrasonic measurement systems
Document and transfer designs to production
Develop and manage electronics design procedures, methodologies, and tools
Develop and execute project management plans
A candidate must be:
A degreed Engineer with applicable experience in the design of electronics systems and applications
Proficient in one or more of: Analog, Digital, Programmable Logic, or Embedded Software design
Knowledgeable of best practices and possess ability to develop simulation and modeling suites for electronics systems and applications (MATLAB, Verilog, SPICE, C, C++, LabView, other)
A team leader with highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
Self motivated, diligent, and comfortable in a rapidly changing environment and growing organization
Experience in ultrasonic/ultrasound applications, high temperature and high reliability electronics, and/or medical electronics applications are highly valued.

This candidate will make their own technical contributions, while simultaneously providing leadership to a small team of 2 to 4 engineers and technicians. The right candidate will be capable of developing new transducer design procedures, techniques and methodologies, selecting new design tools, and specifying appropriate test and measurement equipment. Demonstrated skills in leadership, project management, team management, mentoring, and recruiting are highly desirable. This candidate must enjoy developing, supporting, and working in a team environment.
Design piezoelectric ceramic and single crystal transducers
Recruit, develop, lead and manage other transducer design personnel
Prototype, test, and measure transducers using standard laboratory equipment and machine shop tools
Document and transfer transducer designs to production
Develop and manage transducer design tools and procedures
Develop and execute project management plans
Understand existing and develop new ultrasonic transducer applications
An ideal candidate will have:
Thorough understanding of ultrasonic transducer design theory, materials, and applications
Proven ability to design, prototype, test, and validate ultrasonic transducers
Experience with both piezoelectric ceramics and single crystals
Knowledge of the latest modeling and CAD based design practices and tools (COMSOL/PZFLEX)
Interest to develop new and novel ultrasonic applications and systems
Leadership ability and highly developed interpersonal skills
Project management skills
A high degree of self-motivation, diligence, and attention to detail
Comfortable operating in a rapidly changing and growing organization
A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Physics, or related discipline
Strong oral and written communication skills required
